Daniel Harrison has spent nearly two decades advising organizations of all sizes—from crypto startups to Fortune 10 companies—on their most critical communications challenges. Daniel is a senior advisor to Arena based in Chicago, IL.
Daniel joined Coinbase in 2018 as one of its first communications hires, and played a key role in building the communications, marketing and policy functions during his five years with the company, when the company grew from 250 to more than 6,000 employees. During his tenure, he led product and internal communications, while simultaneously driving executive communications strategy and execution for nearly every member of the company’s senior leadership team, including founder and CEO Brian Armstrong, COO Emilie Choi, and CTO Balaji Srinivasan, among others.
Prior to Coinbase, Daniel was at Facebook, where he led communications for high-profile products and issues like Live Video, fake news/algorithmic integrity tools and Trending Topics. Daniel began his career at Brunswick Group, a leading critical issues firm, where he advised companies on financial transactions, issues and reputation management, and regulatory challenges.
Daniel holds a B.A. in Economics from DePauw University. He is also the founder of Greencastle Group, a communications consultancy based in Chicago.
